[마이데일리 = 김종국 기자] Villarreal (Spain) want a complete signing of midfielder Lo Celso (Argentina) on loan from Tottenham (England).
British Football Insider reported on the 15th (Korean time) that “Lo Celso can be used as a trade card while Villarreal want to sign Lo Celso completely.” Villarreal signed Lo Celso through the transfer window in January, but does not include a full transfer option.
Lo Celso has been in a precarious position at Tottenham, but has been solidifying his position as a key player since loaning Villarreal. Lo Celso made 13 appearances for Villarreal in just over two months. In particular, he played a leading role in Villarreal’s quarterfinals, appearing in both matches of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals in the 2021-22 season against Bayern Munich.
Tottenham Hotspur tried to sign Villarreal defender Pau Torres last year, but it didn’t work out. Tottenham are still showing their desire to strengthen their central defender. The British local media is drawing attention as Tottenham and Villarreal are predicting the possibility of a trade between Lo Celso and Pau Torres.
