Virat Kohli on quitting captaincy

Sourav Ganguly had said that Kohli was not under any pressure to step down as captain and that it was his own decision.

Dubai: India captain Virat Kohli has said he does not want to discuss the rationale behind his decision to step down as T20 captain after the World Cup. He said he had no intention of feeding those seeking controversy.

Kohli has announced that he will step down as captain after the World Cup ahead of the IPL in the UAE. After that, discussions on the reasons for such a decision are ongoing. In the meantime, Kohli has made it clear that he does not intend to give them more fuel.

“I’ve explained it a lot myself and I don’t think I have to answer it yet.” When asked the reason for the decision to step down as captain, Kohli said.

“Our focus is on playing well in this World Cup and doing what we want as a team. The rest are trying to dig up what they don’t have, and I’m never going to feed it, ”said Kohli, outraged at the question.

At the same time, Sourav Ganguly had said that Kohli was not under any pressure to step down as captain and that it was his own decision.

“I was surprised that Virat Kohli decided to step down as T20 captain. This decision came after his tour of England, and it was his decision. There was no pressure from our side. We have not told him anything, “said BCCI President Ganguly.

“We’m not doing anything like that, because I’m a player myself, and I understand that it’s very difficult to be a captain in all formats for so long.”

“I was captain for six years and it looks good on the outside and has all the respect. But it’s like you have a burn inside, and this is what happens to any captain. Not only Sachin, Ganguly, Dhoni or Kohli, but the next captain will also be affected. This is hard work. ” Ganguly said.
