Virtual Arts Festival Starts October 10th | Fun

Cumberland University Community Arts Council presents the first Chalk It Up! Virtual Art Fest. The virtual art festival will take place from 10 to 24 October.

Sponsors of the event include Cumberland University Community Arts Council, Historic Lebanon, World Classic Martial Arts, THW Insurance, the Capitol Theater and the Fite-Fessenden House.

Registration and further information are available at https://bit.ly/3402R2U.

All Wilson Countians are encouraged to participate by creating plaster artwork on their driveway, sidewalk, patio or porch. The organizers would like companies to participate as well.

Participants are asked to post and tag a photo of their finished plaster art on Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #CUCACCHALK.

A People’s Choice award will be awarded to each of the four entry categories based on social media voting. The four categories range from kindergarten to age 12; 13-18 years; from 19 years upwards; and Group that includes a family, company or team.

The five plaster artworks with the highest overall number of votes (not by category) will be invited to compete in a final art competition on November 7th.

A free washable chalk box with 16 colors will be available for each participant while stocks last. Chalk is available at Cumberland University Catron Alumni House, 404 W. Spring Street, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
