Naver introduced the new metaverse platform ‘Arkverse’ at the developer event Debut 2021 held on the 24th. In the keynote speech, Sang-ok Seok, CEO of Naver Labs, said, “Arc Bus refers to a world where data and services in real and virtual space are naturally connected and fused with Naver Labs’ AI, robot, cloud, and digital twin technologies.”
Arcbus has a different character from ZEPETO, Naver’s representative metaverse service. Metaverse can be said to be a 3D avatar-based virtual reality service, and Arcverse is more focused on the connection between technology and the real world.
CEO Seok said, “AI will mainly play the role of optimizing perception and understanding, the robot will play the role of a physical mediator of the real world, and the cloud will play the role of a digital twin virtual world platform. It can be applied to society in various forms, from VR to smart buildings to smart cities,” he emphasized.
NAVER LABS has been upgrading solutions and platforms that make up Arcbus with various partners. Among them, CEO Seok introduced the indoor and outdoor digital twin data production solution ‘Alike’ and the ‘ARC system’, which acts as the brain of buildings and robots based on the NAVER Cloud platform and 5G.
