Manama: The Bahrain Airport Company has tightened the conditions in view of the increase in the number of people who come on visitor visas and have to return from the airport. Based on this, Gulf Air has sent a circular to travel agents the other day explaining the criteria to be followed by passengers.
More than 100 passengers who came from different countries without following the conditions were sent back from the airport on Monday. The situation has been tightened because such incidents have occurred again in the recent past
The main requirement is to have a credit card that can be used in Bahrain or 50 dinars for each day of stay. Apart from this, proof of sponsor’s residence in Bahrain (electricity bill, rental agreement) should be provided along with a cover letter and CPR reader copy in case of hotel booking. A return ticket is another condition that visitor visa holders must follow. If the return ticket is not for Gulf Air, a valid ticket number must be present at the time of the immigration check in Bahrain.
