VR version of “Grand Theft Auto San Andreas” under development for Oculus Quest 2 | TechCrunch Japan

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on October 28th, during a major VR and AR-focused event on the VR platform. Announced a major new title for Facebook and attracted attention.

“Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas” is coming to Oculus Quest 2. GTASA is a work of the blockbuster game GTA (Grand Theft Auto) series released by Rockstar in 2004, and is a game in which players rampage in an open world that imitates cities such as Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

“One of the greatest games of all time, the new version of this title gives players a whole new way of playing this iconic world in virtual reality,” Zuckerberg said.

Introducing such an iconic game is arguably one way to attract more users to the company’s new virtual world. Even users who are reluctant to log in to Facebook’s VR account may find the game appealing.

Zuckerberg didn’t provide much detail about what to expect and when, but Facebook seems to have been working on bringing GTA’s masterpieces to VR headsets for years.
