Thiruvananthapuram: Senior CPM leader and former chief minister V.S. Achuthanandan resigns as chairman of Administrative Reforms Commission The resignation letter was handed over to the Chief Minister. The decision was made for health reasons.

VS said 11 reports have been submitted and two are yet to be submitted. VS also said that the follow-up action will determine the value of the amount spent by the commission.

The VS official residence was vacant earlier this month. He moved to a residence in Barton Hill. Earlier, there were rumors that he would move to his house in Alappuzha, but it was later canceled. Although VS wanted to return to Alappuzha, the family decided to stay in Thiruvananthapuram for treatment.
