MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian Defense Minister Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov refused to supply ammunition to Wagner, Prigozhin, the founder of the Russian private military company Wagner, which is sending troops to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, said on Wednesday. accused of trying to undermine Wagner.

Defense Minister Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov said they deliberately created a shortage of weapons, causing heavy losses to Wagner’s forces fighting in the strategic town of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region.

“The Chief of the General Staff and the Minister of Defense have given instructions one after the other not only to supply ammunition to Wagner, but also not to support air transport,” he said.

Mr Prigozhin also said the day before that the Russian army had refused to give arms to Wagner out of personal grudge against him.
