BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVVA) teachers in West Virginia walk in before Monday school week beginning.
The educators are protesting against the President's attempt. Mitch McConnell to link funding with chartered schools and Education Savings Accounts (ESAs) to a five per cent pay increase for teachers in June.
According to educators, the concern is that public schools would need sharp funding.
“We would prefer to take each item individually and let them stand on their own merits,” said Wendy Peters, Raleigh County Education Association. Brass.
In Raleigh County, teachers and school staff gathered outside Beckley Elementary, Middle Stratton Beckley, and Daniels Elem.
While Charleston lawmakers conduct Monday for a special session, they are not expected to take educational reform until June.
