War in Ukraine, Day 331. Ukrainians learn demining techniques from Cambodian experts

Ukrainian officials have estimated that it could take at least a decade to remove all mines and explosives from its own territory and territorial waters once the war with Russia ends.

Experts from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine worked with personnel from the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC), testing remote-controlled detonations, as well as working with mine detectors and tracking dogs.

“It’s very useful training,” said Arseniy Diadchenko, who is part of the Ukrainian team.

The Cambodian team plans to send experts to Poland to continue training with the Ukrainians.

“The situation there is different, so we will continue this training in Europe where they can apply these equipment and technologies in a real situation,” said CMAC Deputy Director Oum Phumro.
