‘We can win’ Woods challenge for PGA Championship

Tiger Woods (USA), ‘the king of golf’, will participate in the PGA Championship, a major tournament on the PGA Tour.

Woods will participate in the PGA Championship that kicks off on the 19th (Korean time) at the Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. Pina, who had undergone rehab training after being involved in a car rollover accident in February last year, showed off his strength when he made a successful return to the Masters tournament last month. The second major event of the season is the PGA Championship. He won this tournament four times (1999, 2000, 2006 and 2007), and reached the top of the 2007 PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club.

At an official press conference on the 18th, one day before the competition, Woods showed strong confidence. “The day after the Masters was tough,” Woods said. But he didn’t take a day off. Walking is still a big challenge, but it seems to have improved a bit. “I can train longer than before,” he said. “I am stronger than at the Masters, and I think I can win this tournament.” “I will become stronger. It will be so in the near future,” he said.

Woods devised a strategy to change some of the clubs, such as putting in a 2-iron except for a 5-wood to suit the nature of the flat and hard course and wind conditions. Woods will play alongside Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) and Jordan Spieth (USA) in the first round.

Woods also expressed his faith in the PGA Tour with the launch of a new Saudi-backed tour recently. “I believe in the legacy of the tour, in the majors and in the historical players of the past. The tour is evolving.”
