YouTuber and influencer Song Ji-a (Freesia, 24), who rose to stardom with the Netflix series ‘Solo Hell’, was embroiled in a controversy over the commercialization of sex with an unusual school uniform fashion.
The controversy over Song Ji-ah’s sexualization arose on the 13th when she was spotted visiting JTBC Studio in Ilsan, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do for the recording of JTBC’s ‘Knowing Bros’.
In the photo on her way to work that day, Song Ji-ah was wearing a school uniform that was no different from any other performers, but she shortened the shirt to a cropped style and reformed the school uniform skirt to a tight, short length that was attached to her body. Thanks to this, even though she was wearing a school uniform, Song Ji-ah’s unique sexy charm was revealed.
With a height of 163 cm and a weight of 44 kg, Song Ji-ah boasted the beauty of a living ‘Barbie doll’ by wearing sexy volume and clear abs despite her small body.
However, some netizens pointed out that Song Ji-ah’s school uniform fashion commercialized sex. Netizens reacted negatively, such as “I think it’s a corset,” “Anyway, school uniforms are clothes worn by students, so wear them appropriately” “It’s pretty, but it’s not like wearing school uniforms in a cropped style” “Students are responsible for the harm of sexualization of school uniforms” . Some of the female reef communities also responded more aggressively.
However, there is also an atmosphere where Song Ji-ah’s fashion on her way to work is not a big problem. Other netizens said, “Aren’t students wearing all school uniforms these days?” “She’s just pretty”, “Fashion that can be digested because it’s Song Ji-ah”, and “Professional discomfort is born”, etc. are not insignificant.
Prior to Song Ji-a, dancer Noje also wore a short-reformed school uniform top when she appeared on ‘Knowing Bros’ in November last year and was engulfed in controversy.
On the other hand, Song Jia is gaining popularity not only in Korea but also abroad as ‘Solo Hell’ is gaining global popularity. On December 18, last year, the first day of release of ‘Solo Hell’, the number of Instagram followers from 470,000 to 2.8 million increased from 470,000, and the number of YouTube subscribers increased from 470,000 to 1.67 million.
