WestMASSters Benefit to Aid Family’s ALS Battle

West Springfield, Mass. — The annual WestMASSters event, a community afternoon of yard games and fundraising, will take place June 21, from noon to 5 p.m.at the Morgan Road Pavilion. This year’s event, organizers say, aims to provide crucial support for the McMahon family as they navigate a challenging chapter.
Lindsay McMahon previously battled stage 2 breast cancer shortly after the birth of their son,Liam.Now, Kevin McMahon has been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). the progressive illness has already impacted his ability to use his arms and legs, forcing him to leave his job as a bartender.
The WestMASSters event offers a chance to make a difference for a family facing hardship. The event features cornhole, ladderball, and other games. Raffle prizes, food, and entertainment will also be available.
Valley Impact Project founder Thai Bui explained the selection of the McMahon family. “Kevin McMahon has been a well-known bartender in Western Mass. for years,” Bui said. “More importantly, he’s a husband and father. Being all three of those things myself, I can’t imagine going through what the McMahons have experienced these past few years.”
Tickets for the WestMASSters benefit are $100 per team of two, with an additional $25 per player. Spectator tickets cost $20.All proceeds from the event will go directly to the McMahon family to assist with medical expenses and other needs.
