WFP’s US$6.6 billion Hunger Resolution Plan responds to earlier remarks by Elon Musk

The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) recently released a plan to point out how to use US$6.6 billion to solve the hunger problem of 42 million people in 43 countries and regions, which seems to be a response to the earlier remarks of the world’s richest man Elon Musk.

WFP divides US$6.6 billion into four major uses in its plan.

$3.5 billion: Buying and delivering food, including storage fees and shipping costs by land, sea and air.

US$2 billion: Providing cash vouchers to beneficiaries will help boost the local economy.

US$700 million: Funding beneficiary regions and countries to upgrade infrastructure and systems to ensure that aid can effectively help beneficiaries.

$400 million: Global and regional operational management, administrative and accountability costs, including costs for coordinating global supply lines and risk management.

Although WFP did not specify the respondent in the plan, WFP Director David Beasley directly pointed to Elon Musk in his personal Twitter.

Earlier, when David Beasley was interviewed by US TV News, he said that as long as super-rich people such as Elon Musk are willing to lose a small portion of their fortune, the world hunger problem can be solved. Subsequently, Elon Musk said on Twitter that he would consider David Beasley’s opinions. If the authorities can explain in detail that if the world hunger problem is solved, the authorities are willing to donate the money from the sale of Tesla shares.
