White House: “The goal is to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula”

[뉴욕=뉴스핌]Correspondent Kim Geun-cheol = The White House stressed that North Korea would cooperate with the international community to prevent the development of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in response to North Korea’s claim that it could resume its nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) tests.

The White House National Security Council (NSC) said this in response to a request for comment on North Korea’s statement on the 20th (current time) that it could fully reconsider its measures of trust with the United States and consider resuming the temporarily suspended nuclear and ICBM tests. It was reported by Voice of America (VOA).

“I will not comment on the hypothetical situation, but it is very clear that our goal is the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,” an NSC spokesperson’s office official said. “He said.

“While we remain committed to diplomacy, we will continue to work in concert with the international community to halt progress in North Korea’s weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and ballistic missile programs,” he said.

Meanwhile, the White House said that White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan had a phone call with Japan’s National Security Agency (NSS) Director Takeo Akiva on the same day to discuss economic issues in North Korea, China and the Indo-Pacific.
