(Reuters) – The World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday reiterated its call on Chinese authorities to regularly share real-time and concrete information on the country’s coronavirus outbreak.
The World Health Organization has long asked China to provide more genetic sequence data as well as data on hospitalizations, deaths and vaccinations.
After China eased its no-corona policy, testing was curtailed, and official statistics on infections have become less reliable.
The World Health Organization has already asked China to present detailed data on the progression of the virus at a technical advisory meeting to be held on January 3.
China’s National Health Commission said on the 30th that senior health officials held a video conference with the World Health Organization to exchange views on the spread of the new coronavirus, medical treatment and vaccines. He also noted the possibility of exchanging further views in the future.
