WHO: “The risk of omicrons is very high, the possibility of spread is high”

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that Omicron, a new strain of COVID-19, poses a very high risk worldwide.

According to the AFP news agency, the WHO on the 29th local time said, “If there is a large-scale spread of Corona 19 due to Omicron, the consequences could be serious.”

“Omicrons are very different mutations with a large number of mutations,” the WHO said.

He also expressed concern that “Omicron is likely to further spread globally.”

In particular, the WHO has called on countries to strengthen their surveillance systems to clearly understand where and how quickly Omicron is spreading.

In addition, he urged people to speed up the corona vaccine, focusing on the vulnerable.

“To date, no deaths have been reported related to the omicron variant,” the WHO said.
