Who will be the vice captain of the national team?

Imad Wasim, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Shaan Masood are strong candidates to replace Shadab Khan as vice-captain in the upcoming home series against New Zealand.

Shaheen Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandars, is the favorite among the aforementioned trio to take over as Babar’s deputy in the limited overs format.

Babar Azam will once again take over the captaincy in the T20 and ODI series against New Zealand after being rested in the Afghanistan series.

A meeting of the selection committee will be called next week in which the T20 and ODI squads will be selected after consulting with Babar. The meeting is expected on April 4 and the squad will be announced on the same day.

The cricket website quoted its sources as saying that the top PCB officials were not happy with the decision of stand-in skipper Shadab in the Afghanistan series and decided to rest him for the New Zealand series.
Osama Mir is likely to replace Shadab as the leg-spinner in the squad against the Kiwis.

Mohammad Rizwan is expected to retain the vice-captaincy of the Test team. PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi will take the final decision on the appointment of the vice-captain for the limited overs team. An official announcement will be made after approval from the PCB chief.
