A case in which a man in his 60s self-immolated at a marriage information company in Jeju occurred, and the police launched an investigation. It was found that this man had a dispute with a marriage information company over the issue of remarriage in an international marriage.

According to the Jeju Eastern Police Station and Jeju Fire Station on the 17th, a 64-year-old woman set herself on fire at the office of a marriage information company in Idoi-dong, Jeju-si around 12:55 pm the day before.

At the time, it was confirmed that while having a conversation with a company employee, Mr. A poured gasoline prepared in advance into a plastic bottle and made himself.

According to the police, Mr. A had an international marriage through this marriage information company in 2017, but recently divorced, and again demanded matchmaking and had a conflict with the company.

This is because, according to the Immigration Control Act, if there is a record of inviting a foreign spouse within the last five years, international marriage is impossible for five years from the date of invitation.

Person A, who suffered 1-3 degree burns to the face and body, was taken to the hospital by the 119 paramedics, and while it is known that consciousness has not returned so far, the police are investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
