A man, dissatisfied with National Revolutionary Party presidential candidate Huh Kyung-young being excluded from the opinion polls, was arrested by the police after driving his car into the main entrance of the National Election Commission.

The Seoul Gwanak Police Station announced on the 24th that they had arrested a current offender on charges of obstructing the execution of special duties and preparing for arson.

Person A is charged with driving a compact car around 11:20 am on the same day and driving into the main gate of the Gwanak Office of the National Election Commission in Gwanak-gu, Seoul and crashing into a circuit breaker. After that, he tried to set the car on fire by spraying gasoline prepared in advance, but it was found that the attempt was unsuccessful due to the response of the surrounding police.

In the police investigation, Mr. A is said to have stated that he did this because he was not included in the polls for the presidential candidate even though he had a high approval rating.

Earlier, on the 17th, supporters of Candidate Heo were also arrested on charges of refusing to joint eviction after making a fuss at the Gwanak Office of the National Election Commission.
