Will Kovid remove notification from phones ?; Central Government under consideration | COVID pre-call announcements

New Delhi: The Central Government is considering removing Kovid notifications from phones. The Department of Telecommunications has written to the Ministry of Health asking it to remove pre-call notifications and caller tunes. The action follows a complaint that critical calls were delayed.

The letter mentioned the support received so far from the Cellular Operators Association of India (COA) and mobile subscribers. Subsequent circles indicate that the Ministry of Health has taken a favorable position on the demand. The ministry also feels that the awareness campaign over the phone should not continue as the Kovid situation has improved.

For nearly two years now, telecom service providers have been providing Kovid awareness notices before calls are connected to phones. Notice of precautions to be taken during covid and immunization.

According to a letter from the Department of Telecommunications, the message, which is being played across networks, could lead to critical calls being blocked and delayed in emergencies.
