Williams F1 team representative Jost Capito has confirmed that Oscar Piastri is on the list of 2023 driver candidates.
F2 champion Oscar Piastri is currently the reserve driver for the Alpine F1 Team, but the 2023 regular driver will be Esteban Ocon, who has a contract, and Fernando Alonso, who has a strong contract renewal. It is believed that people will continue.
The Aspine F1 team has admitted that Oscar Piastri hasn’t been on the sideline for another year and is pushing for a loan transfer to another team, one of which is Williams F1.
Williams F1 expects Alex Albon to remain in 2023, but Nicholas Latifi occupies another seat, which is uncertain.
When asked about Oscar Piastri, Williams F1 team leader Jost Capito commented, “Oscar is definitely ready to enter F1. I think he’s definitely on the list.”
Nicholas Latifi has endured a difficult season so far and hasn’t scored points yet, but Jost Capito said he has no plans to change the lineup later this year.
“We have a contract this year,” said Jost Capito.
“We stick to the driver and Nicky is confident in the car throughout the season and is confident that his results will be better.”
