London: India’s Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza advanced to the third round of the Wimbledon Mixed Doubles. The Indian duo defeated Britain’s Webley Smith and McHugh. In the men’s category, Medvedev reached the last 16 in the second seed Dan, overtaking Marine Silich. Earlier, the likes of Roger Federer and Alexander Sverrev also advanced to the third round. In the women’s event, first seed Ashley Barty and French Open champion Barbora Krezczykova advanced to the fourth round.

Canada’s Felix is in the last 16 after Australian Nick Kyrgios withdrew. Sonego of Italy overtook James Duckworth of Australia for straight sets. The score was 6-3 6-4 6-4. Another Italian, Beretini, overcame Slovenia’s Aljaz 6-4 6-4 6-4. In the women’s event, American Gof defeated Slovenia’s Kaja Yuan. Score 3-6 3-6. Kerber defeated Alexandra Sansovich of Belarus. The score was 2-6, 6-0, 6-1. Australian Barty defeated Katarina Siniakova 6-3, 7-5.
