| Windies beat Mangalam

Rosu: West Indies won by 35 runs in the second match of the Twenty20 cricket series against Bangladesh.

Batting first, West Indies scored 193 runs for the loss of five wickets. Batting in reply, Bangladesh managed to score 158 runs for the loss of six wickets. West Indies lead 1-0 in the three-match T20I series. The first match was abandoned due to rain. Rovman Powell, who remained unbeaten with 61 runs from 28 balls including six sixes and two fours, and opener Brandon King, who scored 57 runs from 43 balls including one six and seven fours, brought the West Indies to a good score.

Skipper and wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran (34 with one six and three fours in 30 balls) also put up a good performance. Shakib Al Hasan’s (unbeaten 68 off 52 balls including three sixes and five fours) took Bangladesh’s score to 150. Afif Hossain (34 off 27 balls with one six and three fours) was the only other batsman who struggled.

Openers Anamul Haq (three), Litan Das (five), skipper Mahmudullah (11) and Nurul Hasan (seven) disappointed. Obed McCoy and Romario Sheppard took two wickets each and Akeel Hossain and Odion Smith took one wicket each for West Indies.
