Wisden Cricket Club Emerges Victorious in Super Women’s Cup Finals

In a thrilling showdown at the Indoor Turf of the Vytilah Paris Sports Centre, Ernakulam, Wisden Cricket Club showcased their outstanding skills, claiming victory in the All Women’s Cricket Final. The tournament, organized by Manorama Online in collaboration with Chunkat Jewelery and the crew of the film ‘Chaveer’, witnessed Wisden Club securing a commendable 3-wicket win over UC College.

Player of the Series

Rashmi Ramdas, representing Wisden Club, was honored with the title of “Player of the Series.” Marthoma College’s R. Arya proudly received the accolade for being the “Entertaining Player of the Tournament.”

The champion team was rewarded with a prize of 25,000 rupees and a prestigious trophy. The runner-up, UC College, received a sum of 15,000 rupees, while the other semi-finalists were granted 8,000 rupees each.

Following the gripping finals, an exhilarating friendly match ensued between the triumphant Wisden Club and the star-studded team from the film ‘Chavera’. The Sinema team of ‘Chavera’ showcased their prowess, defeating the Super Women’s Cup winners by a margin of twenty-nine runs.

Batting first, ‘Chavera’ managed to accumulate an impressive score of fifty-six runs in just six overs. The dynamic duo of Kunhacko Boban and Anthony Varghese played a pivotal role, contributing 28 and 22 runs respectively.

Wisden Club fought valiantly but fell short, scoring only twenty-seven runs in their allotted six overs. Kunhacko Boban and Anthony Varghese displayed their bowling capabilities, each claiming a crucial wicket.

The esteemed figures from the film industry, including Kunchacko Boban, Antony Varghese, director Tinu Pappachan, and Ernakulam MP Hybi Eden, graced the prize distribution ceremony. Notable personalities such as Thrikkakara MLA Uma Thomas, Bobby Paul (Senior General Manager of Manorama Online Marketing), and Asha Aneet Antony from Lankara Institute of Jewelery Design were also in attendance.

A Promising Gesture towards the Indian Cricket Team

The women’s cricket tournament aimed to convey heartfelt wishes to the Indian cricket team as they gear up for the upcoming World Cup scheduled to take place next month.

Wisden Cricket Club won the Super Women’s Cup organized by Manorama Online, Chunkat Jewelery and the crew of the film ‘Chaveer’. Wisden Club registered a 3-wicket win over UC College in the All Women’s Cricket Final at the Indoor Turf of the Vytilah Paris Sports Centre, Ernakulam. The winning team was awarded 25000 rupees and a trophy. 15,000 rupees for the runner-up and 8,000 rupees each for the other semi-finalists.

After the finals, the victorious Wisden Club and the team consisting of the main stars of the film Chavera faced each other in a friendly match.

Chavere’s Sinema team defeated the Wisden Cricket Club Super Women’s Cup winners by twenty-nine runs in the next friendly. Batting first, Chavera’s team scored fifty six runs in six overs. Kunhacko Boban scored 28 runs and Anthony Varghese scored 22 runs.

In response, Wisden Club managed to score just twenty seven runs in six overs. Kunhacko Boban and Anthony Varghese took one wicket each.
