Women Workers Must Cover Up ‘Even With A Blanket’, Say Taliban

The Taliban have warned Afghan women working in government institutions to cover their faces completely and use blankets if necessary, otherwise they will lose their jobs. Police have also issued an order in this regard. The police issued the directives to the women following a directive from the Taliban government.

Since the Taliban’s return to power in August, most women have been barred from government work, but the Taliban came to power after explaining that women would be allowed to go to work and be given freedom. The Taliban allowed women to work under certain conditions. One of them is that no one is allowed to work without properly covering the body. The Taliban have said they will take strong action if the conditions are not met.
