Thiruvananthapuram: A complaint has been lodged that Shahida Kamal, a member of the women’s commission, did not get a doctorate and added a doctorate with her name. The allegation was made by a woman who had lodged a complaint against Shahida Kamal during a news hour discussion on Asianet News. According to the information he received in writing at the university, he had only studied up to B.Com.

BCom has not passed its third year. Therefore, Shahida does not even have the qualification for a degree. The Universal Document states that PGDCA is the most appropriate. This is also wrong. The complainant said that she had received documents proving these facts from the university under the Right to Information Act and was ready to produce these documents anywhere.

According to the complainant

I have collected the affidavits given by Shahida in both the elections from the Election Commission. Then I collected their educational information from the University of Kerala under the Right to Information Act. According to the records, she studied at Angel St. John’s College under the University in 1987-90. But BCom could not finish. However, according to documents submitted to the Election Commission, they have been registered as BCom and PGDCA. A person who does not have a degree cannot pass a PG. So that argument is also wrong. Defeated BCom passed as these. And it is not clear when he took his PG and PhD.

Dr. Shahida Kamal is attached to the member’s photo below on the Women’s Commission website. CPI leader Annie Raja, former MLA Shanimol Usman and AISF state secretary Arun Babu have called for a probe into the allegations.

Although Shahida Kamal contested the Kauser God Lok Sabha seat in 2009 and the Chadayam Galam Assembly seat in 2011, BCom had stated in both her affidavits that she was educated. When the complaint was lodged, Shahida herself stated that she had not passed the BCom and only meant that the course was completed.
