The Japanese women’s sevens team (Sakura Sevens) defeated Kenya in the semi-finals and Poland in the finals to win the championship.
As a result, promotion to the “HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series” core team was decided. This will be the first time in four seasons since the 2017-2018 season. The 2023 (Women’s) season will begin with the Dubai Games in December 2022.
