The group’s induction comes during their first year of nomination. The 2026 class includes several artists with unique paths to induction. Phil Collins, who was previously inducted as a member of Genesis in 2010, enters the Hall this year as a solo artist. Billy Idol described the induction as a perfect payoff for a career spanning five decades.

Liam Gallagher of Oasis joked that the band secured their spot through reverse psychology before noting that being in the Hall of Fame had been a dream of his since he was a child singing in the shower.

Peter Hook, the former bassist for Joy Division and New Order, expressed that he had been looking forward to it for years and used the occasion to remember his late bandmate, Ian Curtis.

Ceremony and Broadcast Details

The formal induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 14, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, described the induction as music’s highest honor.

Fans who cannot attend the live event in Los Angeles will be able to watch the ceremony in December 2026, when This proves broadcast on ABC and streamed via Disney+.
