Xiaomi of China officially announced the latest midrange Redmi Note 11 series yesterday.

At this announcement event, the company announced some models to be updated to MIUI 13, the latest Android 12-based OS, and their schedule.

Below are the models that Xiaomi will officially offer the Android 12 / MIUI 13 update by the first quarter of 2022, the end of March:

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
Xiaomi Mi 11
Xiaomi Mi 11i
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite
Xiaomi 11T Pro
Xiaomi 11T

Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE

Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G
Redmi Note 11 Pro
Redmi Note 11S
Redmi Note 11
Redmi Note 10 Pro
Redmi Note 10
Redmi Note 10 I
Redmi Note 8 (2021)
Redmi 10

Xiaomi Pad 5

The ones in bold are the models that are officially handled in Japan.
In other words, for domestic models, Android 12 updates will be provided for 5 smartphones and 1 tablet between January and March.

Also, even with the same model, the update provision start time may be different between the overseas model and the model for Japan, but since the Japan limited model Redmi Note 10 JE is also included in the list, other domestic models are also overseas models. It seems that the update will be provided without any significant deviation.

I have the impression that Xiaomi hasn’t disclosed the details of the latest OS update schedule so far, but this time we have released quite specific information.
Also, I get the impression that the pace of updates is faster than last year’s Android 11.

By the way, Android 12 update is already available for Xperia 1 III / 5 III and Xperia 1 II for Sony Xperia, but the official schedule has not been announced yet.
If it is the usual pattern, it was announced from October to November, but this time it means that we will proceed with the update without official announcement.
