Gyeonggi Nambu Police Agency investigators seized and searched eight development-related departments in Yangpyeong-gun today.

The homes of eight officials from these departments were also included in the search and seizure targets.

Yoon Seok-yeol is accused of giving development preferential treatment to the family company of his mother-in-law, a presidential candidate for the People’s Power.

From 2012 to 2016, the company purchased land in Gongheung-ri, Yangpyeong-gun, and built a 350-unit apartment complex.

Even though the project implementation period was two years longer than the permit, Yangpyeong-gun did not take issue with it.

On the contrary, I even extended it.

The development charge, which was over 1.7 billion won, was also reduced to 600 million won, and in the end, it was decided to 0 won and was effectively exempted.

When this fact became a problem, Yangpyeong-gun only belatedly imposed a correction at 187 million won only last month.

The company of candidate Yoon’s mother-in-law has posted sales of about 80 billion won in the meantime, and it is estimated that she earned 20 billion won in profits.

This is the first time for the police to conduct a forced investigation, such as a search and seizure, on the suspicion of preferential treatment for Yoon’s mother-in-law.

The police also booked the company’s owner, candidate Yoon’s mother-in-law, as the accused along with officials from Yangpyeong County Office.
