Lots of illegal dumping by foreigners who are caught… mostly Chinese

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that as a result of the first proposed investigation into foreigners’ real estate transactions, 567 suspected illegal acts had been discovered.

The government explained that these results stemmed from an investigation into transactions suspected of being speculative among approximately 20,000 foreign housing transactions made between last year and May this year.

Among foreigners caught, Chinese accounted for more than half of the 314 transactions, followed by Americans and Canadians.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport intends to inform relevant agencies such as the Ministry of Justice and Customs about the alien caught this time so that investigations and fines are carried out.
