The SRT train is stopped on the track.

The power car at the back of the train is off the track.

The train SRT 338, which was going from Busan Station to Suseo Station in Seoul, derailed near Daejeon Yard Station at around 3:25 pm on the 1st.

It was confirmed that two cars derailed, the first car with passengers in the front and the power car at the back.

It is known that there were 380 people on the train at the time of the accident.

In the accident, 11 passengers complained of back pain, and 7 of them were taken to hospital for treatment.

“I think there was a bit of a commotion as the train suddenly swayed from side to side and luggage spilled out of the car.”

After the accident, passengers got off the accident train and took another train to their destination.

The railroad authorities made a detour for KTX trains bound for Seoul with the general line between Daejeon and Seoul, and the SRT train for Suseo using the downbound high-speed line between Daejeon and Shintanjin to detour.

As a result, other trains were delayed by up to 110 minutes.

It is believed that the accident occurred when the train suddenly braked for an unknown reason and the wheels of two trains fell out.

It seems that it will take some time for complete normalization after recovery from the accident.

“It’s not a fast section, but the train deviated from the track, but there seems to be no problem in operation, and the cause of the accident is under investigation…”

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has launched the Air Rail Accident Investigation Committee and is investigating the exact cause of the accident.
