“Where did the land go?”… The first impressions of the grieving families of the Itaewon disaster

The families of the victims of the ‘Itaewon Disaster’ made an official post for the first time and called for an apology from President Seok-yeol Yoon and a thorough investigation into the truth.

The grieving families held a press conference today (22nd) at a lawyer’s meeting for a democratic society in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and revealed their feelings.

He appealed to President Yoon, “Tell me what the state has done for the lives and safety of the people.”

They issued six demands, including a genuine apology from the state, fact-finding that guarantees victim participation, and measures to prevent secondary harm.

Minbyun said he would prepare legal action for flaws revealed in the investigation by the police special investigation headquarters.
