China’s Corona 19 infection surge… Beijing’s ‘semi-barrier’

[앵커]

In China, as the number of new infections has recently exploded, there is an atmosphere that tightens the quarantine standards, which have been somewhat relaxed.

The situation in Beijing, which has built a ‘Great Quarantine Wall’, is particularly serious.

In fact, it has gone into a semi-obstructed state.

This restaurant is located near Chang’an Road in the center of Beijing.

It’s usually a place where office workers flock during lunchtime, but most of them have closed and given up business.

As the work from home order was issued due to the spread of Corona, the streets were cut off.

The same goes for another restaurant owner.

People who inevitably go to work solve lunch with packaged food.

Since last weekend, meals have been banned in some local restaurants, such as the Chaoyang District in downtown Beijing, and have actually gone into a state of semi-lockdown like last May.

“(Distribution only?) Yes. (When will we be able to eat in the restaurant?) I don’t know.”

All elementary, middle and high school classes were switched online, and schools were also closed.

On the 11th, after the Chinese quarantine authorities announced 20 quarantine mitigation measures, the main content of which is precise quarantine, the number of new infections is increasing exponentially every day.

In Beijing, where the spread is particularly steep, the first day since the start of the corona, the number of confirmed cases was more than 1,000, recording 1,438.

“The number of new infections in Beijing continues to rise at a high rate, and the number of infections in society continues to rise. Epidemic prevention and control in Beijing, the capital, is at a critical juncture.”

The number of critically ill patients also increased fivefold in six days, and as a result, deaths were reported for three consecutive days since the first death in six months on the 19th.
