The Democratic Party, a decision to propose a motion to dismiss Lee Sang-min… People’s Power “National Tide Boycott Review”

[앵커]

This is political news.

The Democratic Party has decided to propose a motion to dismiss the Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min, taking responsibility for the Itaewon disaster.

The power of the people strongly protested that the treaty had been broken.

Reporter Na Gyeong-ryeol, when will the Democratic Party handle the dismissal motion?

[기자]

The Democratic Party intends to deal with the motion to dismiss Minister Lee Sang-min at the plenary meeting this Friday.

We intend to propose a dismissal motion the day after tomorrow (30th) by gathering the views of legislators at the general meeting of the assembly tomorrow (29th).

It means putting a political burden on President Yoon Seok-yeol, who has the right to appoint.

The Democratic Party also announced that it would review the proposal to impeach the minister, which is interpreted as preparation for the case where the president exercises his veto.

Park Hong-geun, floor leader, explained the background of the motion for dismissal, saying, “I have waited long enough” and “I can no longer avoid responsibility.”

The power of the people protested that the Democratic Party’s decision was ‘like destroying an investigation by the government’.

The parliamentary inquiry gave an angry response, saying that the Democratic Party was “only a strategic maid” and that “the Itaewon disaster is being used as a fire for the candlelight of the Yoon Seok-yeol government’s resignation.”

If the Democratic Party is going to handle everything on its own, I asked again why the government investigation is being conducted.

The people’s power announced that they would also review the boycott of the government investigation, and the associated voices are expected to grow louder within the party.

Even today, the opposition and opposition parties fought over the strike of the cargo union, which broke down in the first negotiations with the government.

You said you had a different opinion on who was responsible for the strike?

[기자]

Yes, the government has made the strike by the cargo union demanding the extension of the safe fare system illegal.

The power of the people also kept pace with this and said that the Confederation of Korean Trade Unions and the Cargo Solidarity were responsible for this strike.

It was harshly criticized as “a disrespectful strike to achieve political goals” and “an incitement to destroy the state.”

The Cargo Solidarity ordered a hard line response saying they were “using a herd” and that the problem should be solved with “laws and principles.”

The opposition parties reacted immediately.

First of all, the Democratic Party argued that the government was using public power to suppress the right of workers to live.

“Does Yoon Seok-yeol’s government consider workers who belong to the cargo union only as objects of punishment?” he asked again.

“Why don’t you keep your promise with the cargo union last June?”

At the same time, he said that the statement of the beginning of the order procedure is “a statement that there is no dialogue or negotiation.”

The Justice Party also expressed its intention to deal fiercely with the anti-labour attitude of the government and the ruling party.

So far, it has been presented in the National Assembly. (dwys@yna.co.kr)
