Out of stock gas stations increasing across the country… Administrative action commenced for non-compliance with ‘starting business

[앵커]

As the cargo union strike is extended, the lack of stock continues at gas stations across the country.

More than 90 gas stations are out of gas.

Driver anxiety is also increasing.

Let’s connect the reporters on the spot to find out more.

Yes, I’m at the gas station in Seoul Meeting Square.

This is a gas station frequented by motorists using the highway. Since there are many users, if this place is closed, there will be a lot of confusion.

It still looks like there is still stock left, but you can see that the supply is not uninterrupted due to the effect of the cargo union strike.

More gas stations out of gas today.

96 gas stations were closed due to lack of stock. There were 88 gas stations out of stock until yesterday, but this is an increase of almost 10 in one day.

By region, Seoul had the most with 35, followed by Gyeonggi with 20, Gangwon with 12, and Chungnam with 11.

On the other hand, the cement transport sector, where the business start-up order was announced, showed a recovery trend.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the amount of cement transported this morning was around 150,000 tonnes, which has improved to 83% compared to the usual amount of 180,000 tonnes.

In the case of ports, the amount of container imports and exports during the night hours showed a recovery trend, rising 39% compared to normal hours and 1.9 times higher than a week ago.

The government has carried out an on-site inspection to see if the business start-up order issued last week is working properly.

If non-compliance is confirmed, the policy is to take immediate administrative action.

That’s okay.

Earlier, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it had sent business start orders to 455 truck owners who had refused to transport by last Friday.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport explains that they have to start shipping from Monday this week because the deadline for returning to work expired at midnight last Saturday.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport emphasized that it would check directly whether it would return through a second field investigation or not.

If non-compliance is confirmed, it is our policy to take immediate administrative action.

If the order to start business is not followed without clear reasons, the first operating suspension can be imposed for 30 days, and the second cargo transport qualification itself can be revoked.

In addition to administrative measures, the government also plans to file criminal charges against the collective shipping refusal.

Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong emphasized, “If you threaten the power of an organized group, that is violence.”

So far, we have presented it in the meeting square in Seoul.
