More than 1,500 people have died in the heatwave that hit southwestern Europe.

According to Reuters, Portugal’s health authorities announced that 1,63 people have died from heat waves from the 7th to the 18th.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said more than 500 people have been killed in about 10 days in Spain, which has been hit by heatwaves exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

As the hot air moved north, it was also experiencing unprecedented sweltering heat in Northern Europe.

In particular, Denmark broke the record of 35.9 degrees Celsius in Roland Island in the south and 35.6 degrees Celsius in Boris in the west of Jutland, and the highest temperature recorded in July 1941 of 35.3 degrees Celsius for the first time in 81 years.
