‘Giant disease’ basketball star Kim Young-hee dies … aged 60
Former women’s basketball player Kim Young-hee died on the 31st of last month at the age of 60.
The deceased went through Dongju Girls’ Middle School and Soongui Girls’ High School, and worked as an athlete at Korean Cosmetics.
A 200 cm tall center, she contributed to the silver medal in Korean women’s basketball at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.
The deceased is said to have remained in a nursing home until recently due to a neck injury in October last year after struggling with a brain tumor and acromegaly after retirement.
