“Yesterday, North Korean balloons attacked our airspace”… Estimates for weather observation

It was confirmed that a North Korean balloon had entered our airspace yesterday afternoon (5th).

It is known that the balloon, about 2m in size, flew from North Korea and escaped into the East Sea a few hours later.

The balloon was found to have been first observed by the thermal imaging equipment, TOD, from a unit in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do, and the military said there were no anti-aircraft suspicions and the situation was over.

This balloon is said to be used for observing the weather.
