Lee Hwa-young “Ssangbangbang payment to North Korea, nothing to do with Gyeonggi-do and Lee Jae-myeong”
Lee Hwa-young, former vice governor of Gyeonggi-do, issued a statement saying that Gyeonggi-do had nothing to do with former chairman Kim Sung-tae and the Ssangbang-ul payment to North Korea.
In a statement written by the former deputy governor at the detention center, Lee claimed, “Recently, all reports about Lee Hwa-young, CEO Lee Jae-myung, and Gyeonggi-do regarding the payment of Kim Seong-tae and Ssangbang -ul to the North. Korea is fake.”
“Not only did I not know at all that the Ssangbangwool payment had been made, but there is no reason for Ssangbangwool to provide money to North Korea for Gyeonggi-do,” he stressed.
In addition, the former deputy governor expressed his intention to attend the prosecution and participate in the related investigation.
