The fifth day of the blue defense accident … Pick up the body upright and try to save it today

[앵커]

Five days have passed since the fishing boat ‘Cheongbo’ capsized off the coast of Sinan, South Jeolla Province.

Rescue authorities plan to raise the hull upright and attempt to salvage it today.

Let’s find out by connecting reporters who are out in the field.

Yes, it is located at the pier only for the Mokpo Coast Guard.

At the moment, ‘Cheong Bo-ho’ is hanging on a boat and waiting to be rescued near a small island in Sinan.

No additional missing persons were found yesterday.

The Coastguard was unable to find the missing person even during an underwater and sea search overnight.

Preparations for the rescue are long due to strong currents and high waves at the site.

Preparations were made to install additional installations on the blue guard overnight.

This morning, the installation of additional installation devices on ‘Blue Protection’ is underway.

This is because there is a risk of damage to the body with only the previously installed wires.

When additional fixtures are installed, the body is intended to be turned back and straightened.

After that, the body is lifted bit by bit to drain the sea water inside.

Depending on the progress of the drainage work, it will be decided whether the body should be saved or dragged to Mokpo as it is.

The variable is the worsening weather.

If everything goes smoothly and the rescue is successful, the first thing to do is to search the ship to find the missing person.

Afterwards, the body will be moved to Mokpo and placed on land, and a detailed joint identification will be carried out to determine the cause of the accident.

Earlier, on the night of the 4th, Cheongbo overturned in the waters near Imja Island in Sinan.

Of the 12 crew members, 3 were rescued and 9 were missing.

Five people were found dead the day before yesterday, and four are yet to be found.
