Xi Jinping’s state visit next week… Face-to-face meeting with Putin

Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a three-day state visit to Russia starting next Monday (20th) at the invitation of Russian President Putin.

President Xi is due to hold a face-to-face summit with President Putin for the first time in half a year.

This is the first foreign visit of President Xi, who recently began his third term in power.

Earlier, the United States mentioned the possibility that China could provide Russia with lethal weapons several times, and is interested in whether related discussions will take place at the summit.

Western media reported that President Xi is also pursuing a plan to hold a video conference with Ukrainian President Zelensky, and it is worth noting whether China, which has reconciled Saudi Arabia and Iran, will play a role as a bridge to bring the war in Ukraine is over.
