Production, consumption and investment all increased in February… Semiconductor production plunged

In February, production, consumption and investment all increased, recording a ‘triple increase’ in 1 year and 2 months.

According to the ‘February Industrial Activity Trend’ published yesterday (31st) by the National Statistical Office, the industrial production index for February was 109.4, up 0.3% from a month ago.

However, semiconductor production fell 17.1% from a month ago, the biggest month-on-month decline since December 2008.

The retail sales value index, which shows consumption trends, increased by 5.3%, and equipment investment increased by 0.2% as machinery investment increased.
