Kim Yeo-jung, Vice Minister of the Workers’ Party of Korea, issued a statement criticizing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last night.
This is the first time that a North Korean official has criticized President Zelensky by his real name, and it seems that he is trying to confirm the structure of the ‘new cold war’ by making Russia a clear side.

In September and November last year, North Korea directly denied the allegation of North Korea-Russia arms trade raised by the United States by successive Defense Ministry officials.
Even at the end of January this year, Kwon Jeong-geun, director general in charge of US affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, rejected the US claim as a ‘false rumour’ through ‘discourse’.
However, this time, the White House has yet to issue a rebuttal message to the statement that Russia is pursuing a plan to secure additional ammunition in exchange for providing food to North Korea.
Instead, Kim Yeo-jeong, Vice Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, issued a statement of criticism, stating the real name of Ukrainian President Zelensky.
Kim Yeo-jung argued that the Zelensky government was trying to import nuclear weapons from the United States, saying, “If they calculated that they could avoid Russian fire by going under the hole-filled nuclear umbrella of the United States, they are on their last path. “
In particular, Ukraine “will become a clearer target within Russia’s nuclear aiming circle if it is obsessed with nuclear delusion,” and “Zelensky’s authorities are not opponents of Russia in the first place,” he said sarcastically.
Meanwhile, President Zelensky’s name has been mentioned in an article posted on the North Korean Foreign Ministry website, but this is the first time a high-ranking official has directly criticized the real name.
North Korea’s open criticism of Ukraine and open support for Russia appear to be linked to the Kim Jong-un regime’s perception of the situation.
