About 50 residents moved north of ‘Nan Madol’… One fisherman dies in Jeju Island

Dozens of residents were temporarily evacuated while typhoon warnings were issued in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam due to typhoon ‘Nanmadol’.

According to the Central Security and Disaster Countermeasures Headquarters, at 11 pm yesterday (18th), 53 people from 37 households were evacuated from 4 cities, counties, and gu in Gyeongnam and Busan.

National parks were also controlled, and access was prohibited to 91 places in 4 parks including Gyeongju, Hallasan, and Dadohae.

12 flights were canceled and 12 passenger ships on 9 routes were also suspended.

In Jeju, yesterday (18th) at around 7:47pm, a fisherman was found who was swept away by the waves on the seashore of Jeju Island and died after about 3 hours.
