The first Korea-Japan summit in two years and nine months was held in New York, USA with the United Nations General Assembly as an opportunity.

The briefing lasted about 30 minutes.

At the meeting, the two leaders agreed to work closely together in response to North Korea’s nuclear program, the presidential office said.

In particular, the two leaders agreed on the need to improve bilateral relations and agreed to continue dialogue to resolve pending issues.

This meeting was held in private after a nervous battle between the two sides, and unlike normal cases, the two statements were not made publicly.

No specific agreement was reached on pending issues such as compensation for forced labour.

The presidential office said it was meaningful as the leaders of both countries had taken the first step to resolve the conflict.

The leaders of South Korea and the United States also met face to face in New York.

This is the ‘Global Fund’ meeting hosted by President Biden.

President Yoon gave a speech at the meeting at the invitation of President Biden, and after the event, a conversation was captured for about 48 seconds.

He also greeted President Yoon at a reception hosted by President Biden.

The presidential office said in a series of exchanges that President Yoon clarified the Korean industry’s concerns about the US deflationary law and asked for cooperation.

President Biden said he was well aware of our concerns and asked to continue the discussion, the office said.

At the same time, the two leaders agreed to cooperate to implement a ‘liquidity supply device for financial stability’ if necessary, and promised to strengthen cooperation in response to the North Korean nuclear issue.
