Eco-friendly cars boom… The number of registered hybrid cars in Korea overtakes diesel cars for the first time
Hybrid vehicles, a representative eco-friendly vehicle, were found to outnumber diesel vehicles registered last month in Korea.
According to Kaizu U Data Research Institute, out of 149,000 new cars registered in Korea last month, hybrid cars accounted for 27,863 units, ranking second only to gasoline cars.
Last month was the first time that hybrid cars overtook the number of registered diesel cars, more than diesel cars, which accounted for 26,898 units.
If preference for eco-friendly vehicles such as hybrid or electric vehicles continues, the proportion of registered diesel vehicles is likely to fall below 20% this year.
