United States, the largest currency exchange Binance sues again… bitcoin plunge

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has taken legal action against Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.

The US government is increasing the pressure on illegal activities of virtual assets, but there is also analysis that Binance is subject to particularly serious checks because it is a Chinese exchange.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a lawsuit against Binance and CEO Changpeng Zhao.

“Binance exposed itself to great risk in profiting from billions of dollars of customer money,” he said, applying 13 cases of violations of the law.

In particular, he took issue with the method of secretly stealing customers’ money, transferring it to another company, and then investing in virtual currency within Binance.

Securities Exchange Commissioner Gary Gensler, who led the lawsuit, emphasized intentionality, saying, “Binance and CEO Zhao planned in advance to get out of the law.”

Binance was also sued by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission in March for violating regulations on derivatives, etc.

It is also known that the US Department of Justice is investigating allegations that Binance is a conduit to evade Russian sanctions.

The National Tax Service is also investigating whether it has breached its anti-money laundering obligations.

CEO Zhao said, “All employees are ready to stably manage the assets entrusted to Binance,” but Bitcoin fell to its lowest level since March.

Among the recent increase in pressure from the US authorities on the virtual currency industry, some analysts say that Binance is under fire because it is a Chinese company.

“There was a lot of turmoil in our industry last week, but please understand that it does not reflect the industry as a whole.

Binance, which announced its withdrawal from the Canadian market, where regulations were stricter last month, is standing in front of a bigger storm called the United States.
