President Moon asks for support for end-of-war declaration, Biden calls for denuclearization efforts

President Moon Jae-in yesterday (27th) asked US President Joe Biden and ASEAN leaders to support the declaration of an end to the war.

At the 16th East Asia Summit held via video, President Moon asked for support, emphasizing that the declaration of an end to the war is the starting point for peace on the Korean Peninsula, in Asia, and in the world, Blue House spokesman Park Kyung-mi said in a written briefing.

“For peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region, sincere diplomatic efforts are needed to resolve the Myanmar crisis and complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,” Biden said.

The meeting was attended by the heads of nine ASEAN countries, the United States, China, Japan, Russia, Australia, India and New Zealand.
